Samsung at its Sunday keynote in Barcelona confirmed that Galaxy Unpacked 2017 will be held on March 29, where the company is set to unveil its next flagship, the Galaxy S8. Previous reports indicate the smartphone will only go on sale by April 21.
Teasing the launch event, Samsung wrote in its official invite, “On March 29, Samsung Electronics will unveil the newest Galaxy as part of its endeavour to unbox your phone.”
The South Korean giant confirmed that the March 29 event will take place in New York, and will kick off at 11am EDT (9:30pm IST).
The invite further said, “The forthcoming addition to the Galaxy line-up represents the start of a new era, by reshaping the device that has over the years become an indispensable tool in our everyday lives.” Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked 2017 event will be also live-streamed on the company’s website.

The company is also said to be adding a dedicated button for Bixby – Samsung’s new AI assistant which will work with native apps as well. For specifications, the Galaxy S8 is widely rumoured to be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC with 4GB or 6GB of RAM. The handset is said to pack 64GB inbuilt storage while come with support for expandable storage via microSD card (up to 128GB). The Samsung Galaxy S8 is likely to sport 3250mAh battery.

Scarfo And Company CPA'S | WhatsApp Status Revamp Goes Official, Changes the Way You Use the Messaging App

WhatsApp has given its users a new way to keep sharing their everyday experiences with their contacts with its newly revamped Status feature. The overhauled WhatsApp Status feature – which has been rumoured for a long time – completely changes the way you the Status function of the app works. So, instead of the boring old ‘Hey there, I’m using WhatsApp’, you can share videos or other multimedia content with your friends and family using WhatsApp. Moreover, you can update your status multiple times a day, keeping the engagement level high for your content.

What’s New in WhatsApp Status?

To encourage this increase in engagement with the popular app, your Status will no longer be a boring text message – instead you get to express yourself using a short video.
But videos are not all, as you can also share photos and GIFs as your WhatsApp Status. These WhatsApp Status updates will be visible to all your contacts using the app, and will disappear after 24 hours.
WhatsApp Product Manager Randall Sarafa told Gadgets 360 that the new WhatsApp Status combines three existing features – broadcast lists, media sharing, and, of course, Status.

WhatsApp Becoming More Like a Social Network

The WhatsApp Status videos look similar to Instagram Stories, which in turn was of course heavily ‘inspired’ by Snapchat’s feature of the same name. The new Status implementation by WhatsApp represents a move away from the traditional messaging app model that the company had by and large stuck to until now, and is an attempt to add more social-networking capabilities to the messaging app.
The essence of the revamped WhatsApp Status is that you broadcast regular updates to your friends, who then share their comments or reactions. The one difference here is any replies that your friends send to Status updates are visible only to you, in your Chat with that friend, with a message that indicates which WhatsApp Status update they are replying to. In contrast, the replies and comments you get on Facebook updates, Instagram posts or tweets are visible to everyone.
WhatsApp UI has been updated to accommodate the new features. With video now meant to be a big part of the WhatsApp experience thanks to Status updates, the built-in camera gets a prominent icon of its own. The idea behind the change, Sarafa says, is to get users to share stuff with people “without thinking about which chat window to share it with”. So, instead of first picking a chat and then triggering the camera from there like you typically do, you are now encouraged to shoot first, and figure out the sharing options later.

How to Use New WhatsApp Status Features

As you would expect, Status gets a tab of its own, in between Chats and Calls. It’s easy to create Status messages, especially if you’ve used the aforementioned Stories feature in either Snapchat or Instagram. WhatsApp Status updates you create are visible to your contacts by default, though you can change them to My contacts except… or Only share with… as well.
Within the Status tab you will see various groups: My status, which shows your most recent WhatsApp status (you can swipe to see who’s seen your Status, similar to messages); Recent Updates, which shows new WhatsApp Status messages that your friends have created in the last 24 hours; Viewed Updates, which is self explanatory; and Muted, which lists updates from users you’ve muted. If you deleted a WhatsApp Status you’ve created, it’s deleted from the phones of all your contacts – even from ones who’ve already seen the Status.

When Do I Get the New WhatsApp Status Feature?

The new WhatsApp Status feature is rolling out users in Europe to begin with, Sarafa said, with other regions in line to get the feature later. The feature will ultimately be available to all WhatsApp users on Android, iPhone, and Windows.

Scarfo And Company CPA'S | Why The Rich Pay Lower Taxes

In which Hank takes on some fascinatingly boring stuff about the U.S. tax code, what sorts of incomes there are, how tax brackets work, and why rich people pay a substantially lower tax rate than most people in America.

And then he makes some value judgements and expresses some opinions which are not necessarily the opinions of his brother, and are obviously the opinions of a guy who is not an economist. But really? It just doesn't seem fair.

Scarfo And Company CPA'S | Paying income tax in America is Voluntary

When you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit. Idiot Harry Reid maintains that paying income tax is voluntary in the U.S.. Harry Reid is the Majority Leader in the U.S. Senate. He's obviously not very bright. But then again... he is a politician. Interviewer Jan Helfeld does a great job of trying to nail him down but... well, you'll see. See more bottom Line Interviews by Jan Helfeld at janhelfeld.com

Scarfo And Company CPA'S | What Happened in the Stock Market Today

Stocks ticked higher on Tuesday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJINDICES:^DJI) inching toward the 20,000-point mark and the S&P 500 (SNPINDEX:^GSPC) adding slightly to its double-digit gain for 2016.

Price volatility kept commodity funds popular in light overall trading, as a spike in oil prices sent the VelocityShares 3x Long Crude Oil ETN (NYSEMKT:UWTI) up 6%. Higher gold prices produced an 8% bounce for the triple leveraged Direxion Daily Gold Miners Bull 3x ETF (NYSEMKT:NUGT).

As for individual stocks, Fitbit (NYSE:FIT) and Seattle Genetics (NASDAQ:SGEN) stood out with large price swings.

Fitbit catches a break

Fitbit shares spiked 7% following a rare piece of encouraging news about the fitness device maker's holiday sales trends. Its activity tracking software was the second most-popular download among free apps on Apple's iTunes this past week, beating such heavyweights as Snapchat, YouTube, and Instagram. The app hit eighth place in the Android store, just ahead of Pandora's music streaming service. The high ranking suggests millions of Fitbit's products were activated as part of Christmas gift-giving.

The company could use some good news. Shares are down over 70% in 2016 on slowing sales growth and slumping profit margins. Fitbit had hoped that a strong product portfolio, including new versions of its Charge and Flex devices, would drive blockbuster fourth-quarter results. However, early indications suggested otherwise. In early November, Fitbit sliced its full-year guidance on what management called "softness in overall demand." More recently, elevated inventory levels at retailers has sparked a drop in consensus revenue estimates for the company's fourth quarter.

The worst-case scenario for shareholders involves broadly weak demand that forces Fitbit to slash prices to protect sales volume. While that's still possible, the fact that usage is spiking on its devices could mean the holiday quarter wasn't as bad as many investors had feared.

Seattle Genetics is put on hold

Seattle Genetics, which specializes in cancer treatments, slumped by 15% after several of its trials were put on hold by the Food and Drug Administration. Two phase 1/2 trials were placed on full hold, meaning no further treatment deliveries, while two others were put on partial hold that ended new enrollments but allowed existing patients to continue receiving treatment at their consent.

The biotech said the holds were ordered after six patients out of the roughly 300 treated so far developed hepatoxicity, or liver damage, while taking the aggressive leukemia treatment. Four of those patients died.

It's not clear whether Seattle Genetics' vadastuximab talirine (or SGN-CD33A) was to blame for the deaths, which all involved patients who had also received stem cell transplants. But the trials won't resume until that possibility is ruled out. "Seattle Genetics is working diligently with the FDA to determine whether there is any association between hepatotoxicity and treatment with SGN-CD33A," executives explained in a press release.

The FDA ruling doesn't jeopardize the prospects for the company's biggest drug, Adcetris, which remains commercially available in 65 countries as a treatment for Hodgkin lymphoma. It also doesn't affect other, more advanced clinical trials of SGN-CD33A, including its phase 3 Cascade treatment of older leukemia patients.
